My Go-to Herbal Blend πŸ΅πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Serves 2-3 portions.

Ingredients:

  1. Boiled water (200 ml)

  2. Goji berries (2 teaspoons): Known as a "superfood" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), goji berries are revered for their high antioxidant content, promoting vitality and longevity. They are believed to tonify the kidneys and liver, nourish the blood, and improve vision.

  3. Dried Red Jujube (1 large juicy or 2 smaller): Jujube, or Chinese red dates, are prized for their sweet taste and medicinal properties. In TCM, they are used to tonify the spleen and stomach, calm the mind, and enhance digestion.

  4. Fennel seeds (1 teaspoon): Fennel seeds offer a gentle, aromatic flavor and they aid digestion, relieve bloating and gas, and have a calming effect on the body.

  5. Mugicha/Roasted barley (1 tablespoon): Mugicha provides a toasty, nutty flavor to the blend. In TCM, barley is considered cooling and is used to clear heat from the body, support digestion, and promote urination.

  6. Rose petals (1 teaspoon): Fragrant and visually stunning, rose petals add a touch of elegance to the blend. In TCM, roses are believed to soothe the liver, regulate qi (energy) flow, and uplift the spirit.

  7. Fresh Ginger (1 cm. knob): Ginger lends a warming and spicy kick to the tea. From a TCM perspective, ginger is revered for its ability to dispel cold, promote circulation, and alleviate nausea.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Boil water in a kettle or pot.

  2. Add goji berries, jujube (thinly sliced, remove seed), fennel seeds, roasted barley, rose petals, and freshly sliced ginger to a teapot or infuser.
